Laura Mulka is an advanced practice nurse practitioner specializing in hematology/oncology. She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Central Connecticut State University and a master’s degree as a primary care adult nurse practitioner from the University of Connecticut. She is an oncology certified nurse practitioner through the Oncology Nursing Society and a certified advanced certified hospice and palliative care nurse through the National Board of Certification for Hospice and Palliative Care. In addition, she is certified as a cancer exercise specialist. She is also a clinical associate instructor in the UConn School of Nursing APRN Program.
She is a member of the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology and a member of its Mentor Program, Sigma Theta Tau, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Nurse Practitioners, Connecticut Nurse Practitioner Group, American Cancer Society Pain Initiative and the Oncology Nursing Society. She has been a member of the Central Connecticut Oncology Nursing Society since 1989 and has served in various leadership roles, including president.
She recently published “Bringing Quality into Your Practice” in the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology.
