I hadn't had a rheumatologist since 1980's but both Dr Machado; my neurologist at Ayer and my PCP affiliated with Trinity Health wanted me to start seeing a rheumatologist. I wasn't given a or referred to any specific provider in rheumatology. When I made my appt through Bone & Joint I just took an appointment with a rheumatologist who was taking new patients. I told Dr Carnaru and other providers that I hit the jackpot with her. I was impressed with how much she paid attention to my long and complex history and she continues to show the same concern and involvement with me whenever I go back. I have given her name to other providers I have and have included how highly I regard her.

Dr. Carnaru is a fantastic physician. She is kind, thorough, and takes time to listen to her patients. She assisted me with diagnosis and treatment of an autoimmune condition that multiple other doctors missed. She takes the time to collaborate with me about various treatment options and involves me in my treatment plans. It really helps to have a provider like this when you're in pain and navigating a scary new condition. If only more physicians were like her. I feel very lucky to have her as a part of my care team.
