Dr. Serrano is skillful, empathetic, and patient. He never seemed to be in hurry but explained the procedure carefully and was thorough in answering any questions. He explained all the complications as well as the benefits of surgery. When I was in the hospital, he came once or twice daily to check in on my progress. Everyone on his team was professional and kind.

Excellent surgeon he is, people person very nice and down to earth type. During the kidney donation he was very detail oriented of what will take place. On day of surgery he was very thorough told the person he would call when down he did just that.

I requested Dr Serrano for my surgery because I was donating my kidney and he received the best reviews and came highly recommended. Before the surgery , he explained everything that was going to happen and he came to check on me in the hospital after the surgery was done . It’s only been a week after surgery and so far so good ! I have my post op appointment coming and i will see him soon . I’m glad I had a surgeon at Hartford Hospital that does this often and people have had wonderful experiences with.

I donated my kidney through the Hartford Hospital Transplant Program . The nurses there and the people I worked with are so amazing . I love my nurse coordinator Annie and my social worker Erika . Kari and Tatiana are two of my favorites as well . I was able to request my surgeon and I asked for Dr Serrano based on his experience with this surgery and also he comes highly recommended. I felt safe on the morning of surgery and I’m only a week out but I feel pretty good ! The person that received my kidney is doing wonderful and that news came from my surgeon. Dr Serrano is very thorough and he made sure he explained the whole process. He answered all my questions and I like his calm but assertive demeanor. His staff and him did a great job making me feel that everything was going to be fine . And it is .
