Bio

Andrew Wakefield, MD, FAANS, is a neurosurgeon with the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute.

Board certified in neurology, Dr. Wakefield is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the University of Connecticut and has earned the Hartford Hospital Medical Staff Humanitarian Award and a 20-year award from the American Medical Association. He earned a master’s degree in pathology/immunology and a medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed a residency in neurosurgery at Hartford Hospital and fellowships in neurosurgery, spine, at the University of New Mexico and Cleveland Clinic.
