Hartford Hospital Opens Atrial Fibrillation Center
March 01, 2014
The Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib) Center at Hartford Hospital is the first in the region to offer comprehensive evaluation and management services for patients suffering from A-Fib. Catheter ablation is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that is increasingly being used to treat patients who do not respond to medications.
In the story below, which originally aired in February 2014 on NBC30, Dr. Eric Crespo, the Director of the Interventional Electrophysiology lab at Hartford Hospital, discusses the ways that advanced 3D mapping systems are utilized during the procedure. One of Dr. Crespo’s patients also shares his experience undergoing successful ablation of A-Fib.
