Hartford Hospital Community Health

Doctors and nurses at Hartford Hospital’s Community Health have been providing high-quality medical care to patients in the Hartford area for over five decades.

We’re dedicated to keeping people in our community healthy and well, regardless of the ability to pay. At our clinics, we care for the whole person. That means we take care of medical needs and health issues, but also offer services that address mental health, nutrition and social service needs, too.

About Community Health

In 1969, we opened our doors as the Brownstone Clinics to provide primary care services to those in need in the Greater Hartford area. Today, we offer a wide array of health services beyond primary care.

Hartford Hospital’s Community Health welcome all in need. We see over 40,000 patients every year for medical care, and over 17,000 for dental care. We are also home to the largest HIV facility in the state.

When you come to us for care, you can take pride in knowing you will be seen by some of the best doctors in Connecticut - all affiliated with Hartford Hospital.

We’re also recognized for excellence by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. That means we have met the highest standards for a healthcare provider.

Primary Care Services

We build lasting relationships with our patients and enjoy caring for them throughout the many stages of their lives. We provide yearly physicals and regular check-ups, flu shots and other immunizations, and nutritional counseling.

Taking care of a patient’s mental health is just as important as their physical health. At our Clinic, patients also have access to social support and can meet with social workers to discuss any behavioral health needs.

Providers also help patients with ongoing management of any chronic health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

At Hartford Hospital Community Health, patients have a whole team of professionals behind them.
