Our Mission
The objective of the Community Benefit program at Hartford HealthCare and Hartford Hospital is to ensure a strategic approach to community benefit planning, implementation and evaluation through system-wide oversight and guidance in assessing community health needs to improve the health of the individuals and communities it serves and to enhance health access regardless of ability to pay.
What is Community Benefit?
Community benefits are programs or activities that provide treatment or promote health and healing as a response to identified community needs in such a way as to improve residents’ access to health care services, enhance the health of the community, advance medical or health knowledge, or relieve/reduce the burden on government or other community efforts. Hartford Hospital’s community benefits include education, charity care, subsidized health services, community health improvement activities and more.
