The Neuroscience Unit is a dedicated neuroscience unit located on the 9th floor of the North Building (North 9) located on the same floor as the Neurosciences ICU.
The staff on North 9 are required to undergo extended neurosciences training. Patients may be seen by our team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists for specific rehabilitation needs. Hartford Hospital has a team of physiatrists on staff providing consultation for patients having suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury. The case coordinators, who are registered nurses with neuroscience training, will work with patients, families and insurance companies to ensure a safe discharge whether it be to a rehab center or home.
