Dr. Michael Miranda
Interim Physician-in-Chief, Bone & Joint Institute
An exemplary physician and leader, Michael A. Miranda, MD, currently serves as the interim physician-in-chief of the Hartford HealthCare Bone & Joint Institute (BJI).
Dr. Miranda is a partner at Orthopedic Associates of Hartford and the orthopedic trauma service line director at BJI. He specializes in trauma, joint replacement, and shoulder reconstruction surgeries and is a clinical professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut.
He has a 30-year history with Hartford Hospital, earning his medical degree and completing his orthopedic residency at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Miranda received his orthopedic trauma fellowship training in Pittsburgh, Penn., followed by international fellowships in Germany and Switzerland. Dr. Miranda is a trustee for the Association of Osteosynthesis (AO), the largest international orthopedic foundation, and has chaired the organization’s North American Community Development Committee, the International Community Development Committee, and the Trauma International Board.
Dr. Miranda is an accomplished physician, teacher, volunteer, and leader. He has presented at nearly 200 invited lectures worldwide, and has contributed extensively to orthopedic literature. Dr. Miranda has received humanitarian awards from Hartford Hospital and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, among many other noteworthy recognitions.
Stacey A. Lombardi, MBA, CCRP
Vice President of Operations, Bone & Joint Institute
In her role as Vice President, Stacey partners with physician leaders to improve the quality of care provided to Bone & Joint Institute patients. She serves as administrator for the Institute, focusing her work on program and business development, clinical integration, and efficient operations.
She joined Hartford HealthCare in 2017, and brings over a decade of experience in the field of orthopedic service line management. Prior to her role at the Bone & Joint Institute, she served as the Director of Finance and Administration for the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale University.
Stacey has a master’s degree in business administration from Quinnipiac University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University. She is a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) and is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).
