A complete assessment is done that looks at patient’s risk factors, this includes:
- Behavioral health
- Cardiovascular health
- Diabetes
- Nutritional assessment and body weight analysis
- Opioid use
- Smoking
Within the assessment center patients may also receive injury prevention screenings, such as:
- Osteoporosis
- Fall risk
- ACL injury prevention
An example of how the Assessment Center works
A patient might come to us in preparation for a joint replacement surgery, but may need to lose some weight to reduce the surgical risk prior to undergoing a surgical procedure. Our team works with the medical weight-loss experts and/or surgical weight-loss specialists to design a plan to meet the patient’s individual goals around weight loss.
