Dietary Services
The members of the Food and Nutrition staff welcome you. It is our goal to make this part of your stay as pleasant as possible. We are proud of the quality of food and nutrition services provided to you. We welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions.
We feature a daily restaurant style menu. Your doctor, however, may order a special diet as part of your treatment. We will review your food selections and check carefully to be sure they are in keeping with the special diet order. If your menu is not marked, we will be happy to select for you.
Registered Dietitians / Registered Dietetic Technicians
Registered Dietitians and Technicians are assigned to each patient care unit to meet your special dietary needs and to optimize nutritional health. Their services include patient assessment, nutrition counseling when appropriate, and recommendations to your Health Care Team regarding your special diet or individualized nutrition regimen, and your nutrient needs for healing and recovery. We can be reached at extension 5-2604 or 5-2075 if you have any questions about your special diet or meals. As our special customer, we want you to have a very good understanding of your special diet and nutrition plan of care.
Important Information Concerning Our Menus
Our food delivery system requires our patients to fill out menus one day in advance. Menus must be completed and given to your caregiver. Our “Chef Special” will replace menus not received in advance of the next day’s meal service. Please ask your caregiver for assistance.
If you desire additional food, you may select one hot entree and one cold entree from the menu selections. If you desire smaller portions, please write ½ within the circled items. Between meal refreshments or snacks are available from the pantry. Ask your caregiver for details.
Prepared Kosher, vegetarian, or other special meals are available upon request.
Please inform your health caregiver of any food allergies in your medical history. We can accommodate your special dietary needs accordingly. Please ask your caregiver to contact us as needed at 5-FOOD (ext. 5-3663)
A family member or guest, who chooses to eat in your room with you, may go to the cafeteria, purchase meals, and take them back to your room. If your family member or guest chooses not to go to the cafeteria, a guest meal tray can be delivered to your room. Please request this service through your nurse.
