For Patients | Room Amenities

Your Room

Your room assignment at Hartford Hospital is based upon your admitting diagnosis and the bed availability on the day of your admission.

Private Rooms

Private rooms at Hartford Hospital are based on the clinical needs of patients. A private room may be requested, but the room assignment is based on patient’s admitting diagnosis and the bed availability on the day of admission.

Your Hospital Bed

Hospital beds are electronically operated, and your health care team will show you how to work your bed properly. The bedside rails are for your protection. They may be raised at night or during the day if you are resting, recovering from surgery or taking certain medications.

Calling For Assistance

A button to call for assistance is located at your bedside. When you press the button, the patient care unit is alerted that you need assistance, and a light will flash next to your door. A member of the health care team will respond to your signal as soon as possible.

Tobacco-Free Environment

Smoking is a major preventable cause of disease and death. As a health care institution it is the responsibility of Hartford Hospital to provide a tobacco-free environment for its patients, visitors, employees and physicians.

Please note that if a patient has opted out of the Hospital’s directory, mail will not be delivered to them, but rather mailed to their home address.
