We perform timely surgery using state-of-the-art surgical techniques and equipment to minimize blood loss and preserve function. Our team is led by fellowship trained Orthopedic Traumatologists. Each one of our surgeons is Board-certified in Orthopedics and has year-long subspecialty fellowship training. Our center is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) is one of three Level I Trauma Centers in Connecticut. This designation means we have demonstrated excellence in caring for trauma victims and are committed to research and education.
Treating Complex Orthopedic Traumas
Traumatic orthopedic injuries can be life altering . They require complex care often with long recoveries and extensive physical rehabilitation. Our orthopedic trauma surgeons use the Bone & Joint Institute’s collaborative model of care to help trauma victims heal as quickly as possible. We have specialists for every body part to assure that the highest level of Orthopedic care is given. We engage and work with experienced specialists for each system including vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons, neurosurgeons, musculoskeletal radiologists and anesthesia pain specialists as well as highly skilled physical and occupational therapists. We do everything we possibly can to help people return to their normal lives and activities after a traumatic injury.
