The Neil J. Grey, M.D. Fund for Diabetes

Before he died in 2007, Dr. Neil Grey was widely regarded for his unique and tireless devotion to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes and his advocacy for the Diabetes LifeCare program.

He is remembered as the physician on a mission to drive best practices in diabetes management.

In honor of Dr. Grey’s commitment to education and to allow Hartford Hospital to remain a leader in the care of patients with diabetes, we have established The Neil J. Grey, M.D. Fund for Diabetes.

Established with gifts in memory of Dr. Grey, this endowment fund is used only for special projects that advance care in diabetes or hyperglycemia for inpatients, not for things operational in nature.

These include projects to educate and care for patients with diabetes, with an emphasis on researching and applying best practices in disease and complication management to better serve patients. The use of the fund also includes, but is not limited to, the education of the entire health care team within the clinical setting and beyond, as well as for travel and supplies.
