Curriculum

We are a one year clinical fellowship geared toward those Emergency Physicians who have an interest in learning about and providing advanced resuscitation techniques, as well as provide ICU level care in the Emergency Department.

During the fellowship, fellows will have an opportunity to train in our Emergency Critical Care Unit, resuscitating and managing the sickest patients, as well as rotate through multispecialty ICUs and electives.

  • 6 blocks Emergency Critical Care Unit
  • 3 Blocks SICU, CCU, and Multidisciplinary ICU (Divided throughout academic year)
  • 0.5 Block Neuro ICU
  • 0.5 Block Heart Failure (ECMO, LVAD, CTSICU)
  • 0.5 Block Elective
  • 0.5 Block Research/Education
  • 0.5 Block- TEE/ ECHO
  • Vacation

In addition to the rotations, we have monthly didactics about various critical care topics (ARDS, Ventilator management, Neurotrauma, ECMO, etc.). Our fellows work closely with our Ultrasound faculty, advancing their skills in general ultrasound technique and Critical Care Echo.
