Greetings from the heart of Connecticut! As the Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Hartford Hospital, I am thrilled to present a program that stands at the forefront of emergency medicine education. Our fellowship is meticulously designed for ambitious individuals aiming to lead in emergency ultrasound, supported by a remarkable faculty and an institution with significant acute pathology for education.

Our program is distinguished by its commitment to excellence in both clinical and academic realms. Key highlights include:

Distinguished Faculty: Benefit from the wisdom and guidance of our expert faculty, boasting over 35 years of combined experience in emergency ultrasound, offering unparalleled mentorship and insight.

Comprehensive Curriculum: Our fellowship curriculum covers the curriculum in Advanced Emergency Medicine Sonography recommended by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dive into advanced echocardiography, enhance your skills in regional anesthesia and engage in scan shifts including pediatric ultrasound through our partnership with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and diagnostic medical sonography with our sonographers and echocardiography with our echocardiography techs.

Innovative Learning Opportunities: Participate in weekly solo fellow and faculty meetings and bi-weekly journal clubs, promoting a culture of continuous learning and inquiry.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Equipment: Our department budgets for 7 total machines and consistently aims to upgrade devices. We also have loaner handheld ultrasound machines (Butterfly iQ) for your usage for the year. Our hospital also works with the Center for Simulation and Innovation, a three-story building housing multiple meeting rooms as well as simulation equipment.
